Meat and Seafood
Fresh, unprocessed meat, poultry, and seafood are naturally gluten free. The risk enters with processing: sausages, deli meats, hot dogs, meatballs, and marinated products frequently contain breadcrumbs, wheat-based fillers, or soy sauce marinades. Battered and crumbed options (fish and chips, chicken schnitzel) are off limits unless specifically GF.
Important: Traffic light ratings reflect the default gluten status of each food. Individual products may differ. Always check the label, especially for orange-rated foods.
